Arming and Disarming
Deactivation Procedures
PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Wait 10 minutes. This is the time required for the air bag diagnostic monitor backup power supply to deplete its stored energy.
3. Remove the cover panel on the lower portion of the steering wheel to gain access to the air bag module connector. Disconnect the driver side air
bag module connector. Connect Air Bag Simulator T94P-50-A to the vehicle harness.
4. Disconnect the passenger side air bag module connector located behind the glove compartment. Connect Air Bag Simulator T96P-50-A to the
vehicle harness.
5. Connect the battery ground cable.
6. Perform the necessary tests.
Reactivation Procedures
PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Wait 10 minutes for backup power supply to deplete stored energy.
WARNING: The air bag simulator must be removed and the air bag modules reconnected before the system is reactivated.
3. Remove Air Bag Simulator T94P-50-A from the vehicle harness. Reconnect the driver side air bag module connector. Remove Air Bag Simulator
T96P-50-A from the vehicle harness. Reconnect the passenger side air bag module connector.
4. Connect the battery ground cable.
5. Prove out the system.
