Starter Solenoid: Testing and Inspection
SOLENOID S-TERMINAL CIRCUIT RESISTANCE
1. Disassemble the starter motor.
2. Check the starter solenoid for continuity between the S-and M-terminals using Rotunda 73 Digital Multimeter 105-R0051 or equivalent. Replace
the starter solenoid if there is no continuity.
3. Check for continuity between the S-terminal and the starter solenoid body using Rotunda 73 Digital Multimeter 105-R0051 or equivalent. Replace
the starter solenoid if there is no continuity.
SOLENOID M-TERMINAL
1. Check for ground between the M- and B-terminals using Rotunda 73 Digital Multimeter 105-R0051 or equivalent. Replace the starter solenoid if
there is continuity.
