CAUTION: Do not hold the steering wheel against a stop for more than 15 seconds at a time.
7. Turn off the engine and check the fluid level in the power steering oil reservoir. Add fluid if necessary.
PROCEDURE NO. 2
1. Install the unprimed replacement power steering pump in the vehicle.
2. Attach the power steering pressure hose and power steering return hose to the power steering pump and power steering oil reservoir.
3. Fill the power steering oil reservoir to the proper level.
4. Purge the power steering system of air.
Start Up Procedure After Power Steering Pump or Gear Service
After engine start-up, follow the fill procedure to eliminate excessive steering noise due to air trapped in the system during service.
