Output Shaft: Service and Repair

CAUTION:  Output shaft disassembly should occur only if the following conditions are present:

-

Abnormal noise

-

Faulty bearings

DISASSEMBLY 

1. Use a chisel to break the outer cage of the output shaft rear bearing.

WARNING:  Eye protection should be worn during this procedure to prevent any possible injury from flying metal.

2. Pry the output shaft rear bearing from the output shaft.

3. Remove the bearing outer snap ring from the output shaft bearing retainer.
