ISSUE
Some vehicles may exhibit a gear "whine" noise from the front under light acceleration while driving between 40 km/h (25 mph) and 113 km/h (70 mph).
This condition may be due to the Automatic Transaxle (A/T) shift cable transmitting normal operational noise from the transaxle into the passenger
compartment.
ACTION
Install a 300 gram mass damper on the A/T shift cable to reduce the amount of noise transmitted to the passenger compartment. Refer to the following
Service Procedure for details.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1.
Road test the vehicle to confirm a gear whine noise is heard.
