Oil Seepage from the Filter Housing Area

R50, R52, R53 with W10, W11
SITUATION
Oil seepage is detected in the area of the oil filter housing.
CAUSE
Dimensional tolerances of the sealing o-ring of the oil filter housing cover.
CORRECTION
On a customer complaint basis, replace the filter housing o-ring with P/N 11 42 7 562 249.
Important:
Make sure that the o-ring groove in the filter housing cover is cleaned and free of deposits, and a thin coat of engine oil is applied to the o-ring seal
prior to its installation.
