Removing and Installing Power Steering Gear
32 13 060 - Removing and installing power steering gear
Special tools required:

32 3 090 See: Tools and Equipment/32 3 090 Extractor
Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove wheels See: Wheels and Tires/Wheels/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removing or Installing Front or Rear Wheel

Remove stabilizer link See: Suspension/Stabilizer Bar/Service and Repair/Front Axle/Removing and Installing/Replacing Push Rod (Stabilizer
Link) for Left/Right Stabilizer for stabilizer bar on left and right from stabilizer bar

Draw off oil from steering fluid reservoir
After completing work:

Carry out electronic wheel alignment check

Bleeding power steering See: Power Steering/Power Steering Bleeding/Service and Repair
Important!

Adhere to the utmost cleanliness

Do not allow any dirt to enter the system

Close off pipe connections with plugs
Note:
If the power steering gear is replaced on vehicles up to 05/03, both tie rods must also be replaced.

Recycling:
Observe country-specific waste-disposal regulations.
Draw hydraulic fluid out of tank -> do not reuse.
