Shifter CVT: Service and Repair
Removing and Installing/Replacing Shift Tower (CVT)
25 16 056 - Removing and installing/replacing shift tower (CVT)
Necessary preliminary tasks:
Move selector lever to P position.
Remove center console See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Console/Service and Repair/Removing and Installing Front Center Console.
Remove cable/parking gear See: Steering and Suspension/Steering/Steering Column/Steering Column Lock/Service and Repair/Procedures/Removing
and Installing/Replacing Interlock Cable.
Remove final muffler See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Exhaust System/Muffler/Service and Repair/Removing and Installing/Replacing Rear Muffler

Detach plug connector (1) of position switch.
Remove retaining elements (1) of front heat shield.
Tightening torque 51 48 1AZ See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Exhaust System/Specifications/51 48 Heat Shields.
Note: It is not necessary to remove the heat shield.
