Steering Gear: Service and Repair
Replacing Gaiter for Steering Gear on Left or Right

32 11 100 - Replacing gaiter for steering gear on left or right

Important!

The steering gear must be replaced if the polished surface of the rack is damaged (e.g. corrosion)!

Necessary preliminary tasks:

Remove tie rod end See: Tie Rod/Service and Repair/Replacing Left or Right Tie Rod

Clean tie rod.
Release ear clip See: Power Steering/Power Steering Line/Hose/Service and Repair(1).

Installation Note:

Clean rack and check surface for damage (e.g. by corrosion).
Grease rack (refer to Service Operating Fluids).
Release ear clip (1).
