Clutch Release Bearing: Service and Repair

21 51 500 - Removing and installing or replacing clutch release unit

Necessary preliminary tasks:

-

Transmission See: Manual Transmission/Transaxle/Service and Repair/Removing and Installing Transmission (GS6-55BG) removed.
When installing a new clutch, you must replace the release bearing.

Press spring wire clip (1) through clutch release lever (2).
Remove clutch release lever (2).

Press in retainers (1) slightly and remove clutch release bearing.

Installation:

Clean all sliding surfaces on clutch release bearing.
Check for damage and replace if necessary.
Do not grease clutch release lever.
