Checking Front Disks For Runout and Thickness Variation

Checking Both Front Brake Disks For Runout And Differences In Thickness

(Front Wheels Removed)

Special Tools Required:

-

00 2 470

-

00 2 480

-

00 2 510

Remove front road wheels.

Secure brake disk with two wheel studs(1).

Press brake linings back - they must not touch the brake disk!

Secure special tool 00 2 510 with special tool 00 2 470 / 00 2 480 to spring strut.

Apply dial-gauge tip on outer edge of brake disk with light preload.

Turn brake disk slowly and read off lateral runout,

Measure thickness difference within brake surface at approximately 8 points with micrometer.
