The front brake rotors can be inspected without removing the wheels.

Use a clean lint-free shop rag to wipe away any dirt or debris which may have collected on the rotor's inner hub.

Looking through the spokes of the wheel, check the part number stamped into each of the front rotors. The part number of the rotor is stamped along the
inner hub after the minimum thickness value (for example, MIN TH 20.4 mm 6 784 366).

If the part number 6 784 366 is stamped on the rotors, then no further action is required. 

If the part number cannot be determined, measure the gap between the outer edge of the front rotor and the brake caliper at the top of the caliper. The
gap can be measured using a feeler gauge. If the gap is 2 to 3 mm, then no further action is necessary. If the gap is approx. 10 mm, then the 16-inch
rotors have been installed and the front rotors, brake pads and wear sensor must be replaced.

If replacement of the brake components is necessary, then refer to the appropriate Repair Instruction sections as shown above.

This [NEW] Recall Campaign has been assigned code number 38. After the vehicle has been checked and/or corrected, obtain a label (MD 20-036) and: 
A.

Emboss your MINI dealer warranty number in the middle of the label (1);

B.

Punch out code number 38 (2), printed on the label; and
