Spark Plug: Service and Repair

1.

Remove center cover from top of each cylinder head.

2.

Remove spark plug wires from spark plugs.

3.

Using the proper sized spark plug socket, remove the spark plugs by turning them counterclockwise.

4.

Gap the new spark plugs to specifications.

SPARK PLUG GAP:

Standard Value

.039 - .043 in (1.0 - 1.1 mm)

5.

Lightly coat threads with an approved anti-seize compound prior to installation.

6.

Install spark plugs by turning them clockwise. Torque spark plugs to specifications.

TORQUE VALUE:

Spark plugs

15 - 21 ftlb (20 - 30 Nm)
