Active Exhaust System Control Module: Description and Operation
Active Exhaust Control Circuit
The exhaust control unit is located in the LH rear side body panel. It serves to control exhaust noise by opening and closing a valve inside the muffler
and redirecting the exhaust gasses past the baffles.
The valve is operated by a DC motor. The ECU controls a signal that is monitored by the exhaust control unit. When the control unit receives an ECU
signal, either from the dash switch or engine rpm above 3500, it reverses current flow to the motor and moves the valve to the appropriate setting.
