Air Bag(s) Arming and Disarming: Service Precautions
In order to avoid injury to yourself or others from accidental deployment of the airbag during SRS servicing, carefully follow procedures and observe
all the following precautions:
1.
Do not use any electrical test equipment on or near the SRS components, Except as those specified in the procedure.
2.
Never use an analog ohmmeter.
3.
Never attempt to repair the following components:
a. Front impact sensors.
b. SRS Diagnosis Unit (SDU).
c. Clock spring.
d. Airbag module.
e. If any of these components are diagnosed as faulty, they should be replaced.

Do not attempt to repair wiring harness connectors of the SRS system. If any of the connectors is diagnosed as faulty, replace the wiring harness. If
the wires are diagnosed as faulty, replace or repair the wiring harness according to the table shown in Fig. 1.
5.
SRS components should not be subjected to heat over 200°F, so remove the front impact sensors, SRS diagnosis unit, airbag module and clock
spring before drying or baking vehicle after painting.
6.
Whenever completing service on the SRS system, check the SRS warning light operation to ensure that the system is functioning correctly.
