Fuel Pressure Release: Service and Repair

    Before any fuel system service can be performed, the fuel pressure in the fuel system must be released to prevent personal injury or damage to vehicle.

1.

Remove fuel gauge cover in luggage compartment.

2.

Disconnect fuel pump harness connector.

3.

Start and run engine and allow to run.

4.

When engine stops running, turn ignition switch to Off position.

5.

After fuel system repairs are complete, connect fuel pump harness connector.

6.

Apply body sealant No. 8509 or equivalent to fuel gauge cover then install cover.
