Parking Brake System: Service and Repair
1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove rear wheels.
2. Remove rear disc caliper from adapter as outlined under Brake Pad.

3. Disassemble parking brakes in numbered sequence shown in Fig. 8, noting the following:
a. When removing speed sensor from knuckle, use care not to hit pole piece at its tip against the rotor teeth or other parts.
b. Using axle shaft holding tool No. MB990767-01, or equivalent, secure axle shaft and remove companion flange self locking nut.
c. Using axle shaft puller tool Nos. MB990211-01 and MB990241-01, or equivalents, remove axle shaft from trailing arm.
4. Reverse numbered sequence shown in Fig. 8 to assemble parking brakes, noting the following:
