TROUBLESHOOTING HINTS

Hint 1: Poor cleaning of exhaust gas will result if the heated oxygen sensor fails.
Hint 2: If the heated oxygen sensor checked good but the sensor output voltage is out of specification, troubles of parts related to air-fuel ratio
control system are suspected.
Examples

Faulty injector

Air leaking into the intake manifold through gasket gap, etc.

Faulty volume air flow sensor, intake air temperature sensor, barometric pressure sensor, engine coolant temperature sensor

INSPECTION USING SCAN TOOL

Heated oxygen sensor (front)

Heated oxygen sensor (rear)

Heated oxygen sensor (front, rear)

HARNESS INSPECTION

STEP 1: Measure the power supply voltage of the heated oxygen sensor.

Connector: Disconnected

-

Ignition switch ON
Voltage: Battery positive voltage
OK: GO TO STEP 2
NG: Repair the harness. (A1, B1, C1, D1-MFI relay)
