Remove the lower damper pulley and adapter (if equipped). Fig. 28.

Remove the crankshaft pulley. Fig. 28.

Remove the upper timing belt cover and gasket. Fig. 28.

Remove the lower timing belt cover and gasket. Fig. 28.

Using a suitable piece of wood and a jack, raise the engine until the crankshaft bolt is accessible through the hole in the fender apron. Fig. 1.

Remove the crankshaft sprocket bolt and thrust washer (do not remove the sprocket). Fig. 28.
