1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Release fuel system pressure.
3. Remove air intake hose.
4. On SOHC engines, disconnect radiator upper hose.
5. On DOHC engines, disconnect radiator lower hose.
6. On all engines, remove water outlet housing.
7. Remove housing gasket and thermostat.
8. Install thermostat with jiggle valve lined up with mark on housing, Fig. 50.
9. Reverse procedure to install.
