UNDEPLOYED PRETENSIONER-FITTED SEATBELT DISPOSAL
DEPLOYMENT OUTSIDE THE VEHICLE
1. Remove the pretensioner-fitted Seatbelts.
CAUTION: To prevent accidental triggering of the seatbelt pretensioner, set the safety lock lever in the lock position
2. Using a rope of length greater than 6 m (20 ft.) attach the rope to the pretensioner-fitted seatbelt so that the cylinder is in the position as shown in
the diagram when suspended and the pretensioner-fitted seatbelt is horizontal.
3. Place the pretensioner-fitted seatbelt on concrete or other hard floor and operate the pretensioner safety lock lever so that the lever points in the
arrowed direction to the release the lock.
CAUTION: After releasing the lock, take the utmost care in handling not to apply any shocks because the pretensioner will operate even if it
drops from a height of 5 cm (2 in.).
4. Surround the pretensioner-fitted seatbelt with four old, wheel-less tires. Place another old tire (with wheel attached) on top, and pass the rope
through the central hole of the wheel.
5. Secure all the tires with rope so they cannot slip.
