F4A33 IMPROVED NEUTRAL TO DRIVE ENGAGEMENT
PURPOSE
Diamante wagons might experience a delay when engaging Drive from Neutral. The condition occurs only on a cold start up. To correct it, new rear
clutch seal rings of cast iron can be used in service when overhauling the transaxle.
AFFECTED MODELS
Only the early production 1993 Diamante Station Wagon is affected. Transaxles from F4A33K1-UPQ1, produced February 11, 1993 have the new cast
iron rear clutch seals. Transaxles produced before that date have Teflon seals.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
To improve the N-D engagement when cold, the early seals may be replaced with the new cast iron seals.
PARTS INFORMATION
The part number of the new cast iron seals is MD720750. Order three for each rear clutch serviced.
