c. Using ball joint remover tool No. MB991113-01 or equivalent, loosen and disconnect ball joint from knuckle. Loosen do not remove ball

joint nut.

Replace connecting rod as follows:
a. Remove trailing arm bushing.
b. Remove connecting rod nut and bolt.
c. Install rod remover and installer tool No. MB9911254 or equivalent, as shown in Fig. 27.
d. Apply lubricant to sliding points (marked A). Install bolt (B) in trailing arm.
e. Using a suitable wrench, turn screw (C) to remove connecting rod.

Installation of body of special tool should be performed with screw shaft and guide shaft center lines oriented as shown in Fig. 28.

g. Apply soapy water to rubber portion of connecting rod then reverse procedure to install.

Reverse procedure to install.
