If the locker arm does not have an access hole for the pin (on early production vehicles), the pin cannot be replaced. You must replace the entire
guide rail assembly.

Remove the sunroof glass. Refer to removal instructions on page 42-40 of the 1995 Eclipse service manual.

Working as close to the pivot pin as possible, push the locker arm outward with pliers.

Check to see if the pin is loose Using a 2.5 mm punch, carefully push the pivot pin from the inside of the locker arm.

CAUTION

To prevent paint damage, place a length of masking tape on the roof of the vehicle.

a. If the pin does not move, do not replace the pin. Adjust the control unit timing as described in the next repair procedure.

b. If the pin is pushed out, continue with this procedure for pin replacement.

Using needle-nose pliers, pull the pin completely out. Use care to prevent denting the roof.

6.

From outside the vehicle, use pliers or a punch to install a new, knurled pin. Install with the knurled end of the pin leading into the hole. The new
pin part number is listed in the "Parts Information" section of this Technical Service Bulletin. Do not use excessive force to install the pin. The pin
must be flush with the hole (not protruding). If you cannot install a new pin, replace the guide rail.

7.

Using pliers or a punch, push the locker arm inward to its original position.

8.

Repeat pin replacement as required for all sunroof pivot pins.

9.

Reinstall the sunroof glass.

10.

Test sunroof operation to confirm that the new pins are fully seated and this condition is resolved.

Sunroof Does Not Operate

CONDITION:

Sunroof Does Not Operate

If the sunroof fails to operate, the control unit timing may not be functioning properly. This could be caused by the drive cable interference with control
unit timing. To eliminate this condition:
