Eclipse L4-1996cc 2.0L DOHC (1995)
If a new PCM (Part No. MO5269656 or MO5269653) was installed on a vehicle produced between 6/16/94 and 9/10/94 to eliminate DTC 111, DTC
126 or poor driveability, you may need to reprogram the PCM in order to eliminate DTC 113.
Service Procedure
PROCEDURE (FOR DTC 111 and 126)
1.
Perform the following diagnostic procedures:
a.
Follow the appropriate DTC diagnostic troubleshooting chart and/or Inspection Procedure for Trouble Symptoms chart provided in the 1995
Eclipse service manual.
b.
Manual Transmission with DTC 111 Only: Remove the pulsed secondary air injection (aspirator) valve.
Check the valve by blowing air through it from side A to side B. If you can blow air through the valve from side A to side B, replace the valve.
Continue with Steps 2 and 3.

If any malfunction is found during the troubleshooting procedures, repair as needed. Then perform a road test to determine if the problem is
eliminated. Be sure to duplicate the symptom conditions (e.g. cold ambient temperatures, etc.) during the road test.
If DTCs other than DTC 111 and DTC 126 are read with the scan tool, repair the problem using the appropriate DTC troubleshooting chart in the 1995
Eclipse service manual. Then perform a road test and retest to determine if the DTC is eliminated.
3.
If no malfunction is found and the problem is not eliminated:

On vehicles produced on or before 6/16/94, reprogram the PCM as described in the PCM REPROGRAMMING section of this bulletin, using
Reprogramming Cartridge MIT992006 for DTC 111 and 126.

On vehicles produced from 6/17/94 to 9/10/94, install a new, recalibrated PCM. Do not attempt to reprogram the PCM on these vehicles. Replace the
PCM with the appropriate part number listed in the chart on the next page of this bulletin. After installation, affix an "Engine Compartment" label as
described in Step 10 of the PCM REPROGRAMMING section of this bulletin. (Do not use the "Control Module" label.)
