NOTE: 

Make sure the vacuum port of the regulator points downward towards the ground.

14.

Install the new vacuum hose from the fuel pressure regulator to the intake manifold.

15.

Reconnect the Fuel Pump Relay.

B. Removal of the Exhaust Aspirator System

Repair kits for removing the aspirator system (P/N M05013898M), are available to perform the necessary modifications to the affected vehicles. Refer to
the Parts Information section of this bulletin.

Aspirator Pipe Plug

(2)

Cap for air cleaner aspirator hose nipple

(3)

Wiring connector plug for ASOV electrical connector

(4)

Vacuum hose connector for EGR transducer

(5)

VECI label for Federal vehicles

(6)

VECI label for California vehicles

1.

Disconnect the Air Shut Off Valve (ASOV) electrical connector.

2.

Disconnect the ASOV vacuum hose.

3.

Disconnect the aspirator system hose from the air cleaner assembly.

4.

Remove the aspirator system hose from the aspirator valve, then discard the ASOV and hoses.

5.

Using two wrenches, one on the aspirator tube and the other on the aspirator valve, remove and discard the aspirator valve.
