Eclipse L4-1996cc 2.0L DOHC (1995)
Refer to the chart for appropriate repairs, PCM part numbers and reprogramming cartridges. Then check the current PCM part number on the vehicle and
refer to Attachment 1 to confirm the appropriate repair action.
PCM REPROGRAMMING
1.
Gather the following equipment which is contained in Reprogramming Kit MIT992OOO-A:

Follow the procedures in the Reprogramming Unit Instruction Manual for connecting the EATXIII harness, installing the appropriate cartridge
into the reprogramming unit, and connecting it to the vehicle.

Follow the displayed instructions on the reprogramming unit.

The display will ask if you want to change the engine controller part number. Select Yes. Reprogramming will begin.
5.
The current and replacement PCM part numbers will display. Record the displayed replacement PCM part number.
6.
If the PCM cannot be reprogrammed, the displayed current and replacement PCM part numbers will be the same, or the message "THIS
CARTRIDGE CANNOT UPDATE ENGINE CONTROLLER P/N XXX" will display. If so, do not continue with this reprogramming procedure.
Refer to the appropriate diagnostic instructions in the service manual.
7.
Follow the displayed instructions on the reprogramming unit to continue with the reprogramming process. When completed, disconnect the
reprogramming unit and EATX111 harness.
8.
Using a ball-point pen, enter the replacement PCM part number (noted in Step 5 above), your dealer code, and the current date on the "Control
Module" label.
