The "O" in the above labor code is the number ZERO.

MATERIALS AND SPECIAL TOOLS REQUIRED

This new oxygen sensor uses a ceramic type insulating material which withstands a higher temperature. This makes the new sensor 10 mm longer than
the one being removed (Figure 1).

You MUST use Oxygen Sensor wrench number MD998748-01 (Figure 2).

CAUTION: Do not use the oxygen sensor removal wrench MD998770-01 which has a split on the side (Figure 3).

Multi-Use Tester.

Penetrating oil.

Oxygen Sensor Replacement Procedure

1.

Remove the key from the ignition switch and then open the hood.

2.

To make oxygen sensor removal easier, apply some penetrating oil to the exhaust manifold at the base of the OLD oxygen sensor.
