MANUAL TRANSMISSION/TRANSAXLE GEAR OIL
PURPOSE
The manual transmissions/transaxles in 1991 Mitsubishi Motors vehicles require the use of certain gear oil viscosities and classifications. This bulletin
supersedes gear oil specifications shown in 1991 service manuals. Using gear oil of the wrong viscosity and/or API Classification will affect the shift
effort (particularly at low ambient temperatures) and may cause transmission component damage.
Use only gear oils having the following viscosity and API Classification:
CAUTION:
Damage may occur to certain transmission components if the improper oil viscosity or classification is used.
Mitsubishi Diamond Gear Lube - A991ZC2X01 - SAE 75W - 85W GL4, meets these requirements.
Refer to the Service Manual "General" section for proper filling procedures.
