Eclipse L4-1997cc 2.0L DOHC Turbo 16 Valve (1996)
INSTALLATION
1. Follow removal procedure in reverse order, noting the following.
2. Apply a small amount of engine oil to the entire inside diameter of the oil seal lip.
3. As shown, tap in the oil seal using rear crankshaft oil seal installer tools No. MB990938 and MB998776, or equivalents.
4. Clean off all sealant, oil and other substances which are adhering to the threaded bolts, crankshaft thread holes and the drive plate.
5. Apply on to the bearing surface of the drive plate bolt.
6. Apply oil to the crankshaft thread holes.
7. Apply 3M stud locking 4170 sealant, or equivalent, to the threaded mounting bolts.
8. Use the drive plate stopper tool to secure the drive plate, and then tighten the bolts to 127 - 137 Nm (94 - 101 ft. lbs.).
