Control Arm: Service and Repair
Front Suspension
Upper Arm Assembly
REMOVAL
Follow removal steps outlined in illustration.
NOTE: Removal service points as follows:
1. Upper arm ball joint and knuckle disconnection (1).
CAUTION:

Use the special tool to loosen the tie rod end mounting nut. Only loosen the nut; do not remove it from the ball joint.

Support the special tool with a cord, etc. to prevent it from coming off.
INSPECTION
1. Check the bushings for wear and deterioration.
2. Check the upper arm for bends or damage.
3. Check all bolts for condition and straightness.
4. Check ball joint breakaway torque.
