Confirm proper sunroof operation by opening and closing the sunroof.

NOTE:

The sunroof will not close properly if power to the sunroof is interrupted while the sunroof is open, or if an obstruction in the sunroof opening is
sensed 5 times within the same key cycle.

If there is a small "bounce" after the initial pop-up movement when opening the sunroof, this is NOT a judder condition. It is a normal
characteristic, which varies from vehicle to vehicle.

Check the condition of the aluminum housing. If the judder was extreme or if it existed for a prolonged period, the housing may be damaged.
Inspect for a wear pattern similar to the pattern shown.

If a wear pattern is identified, the housing (p/n MR523115) must be replaced, or the judder will continue. If replacing the housing, be sure to
reinstall the cable guides in the correct location, to prevent binding.

If the sunroof judders or vibrates during opening or closing, remove the headliner from the vehicle. Refer to Group 52A in the Eclipse service
manual.

THE SUNROOF MUST BE COMPLETELY CLOSED AT THIS TIME.

Open the sunroof sunshade. With the sunroof in the completely closed position, remove the four Phillips or Torx screws securing the glass to the 
sunroof assembly. Remove the sunroof glass.

NOTE:

Be sure that your torx bit is flat. If the bit has a slight crown extending past the teeth, it will not make full contact and the screw will be
damaged. If necessary, file or grind the tip of your torx bit to flatten it.

Remove the sunroof assembly from the vehicle. Refer to Group 42 in the Eclipse service manual. Place the sunroof assembly upside down on a
large workbench. Be sure to protect the sunroof from scratches.

7.

Remove the sunroof motor. Refer to Group 42 in the Eclipse service manual.

8.

Remove the roof drip channel (2 screws).

9.

Remove the rear guide rail stoppers.

10.

Remove the sunshade stopper screws and stoppers from each side.

Inspect the screw holes in the rail vanes. If the holes are rough, use a file to smooth the edges. The sunshades could be damaged by rough
