Eclipse Spyder FWD L4-2350cc 2.4L SOHC 16 Valve (1996)
NOTE: Be sure to remove the front bearing first. If it has not been removed, the rear bearing puller cannot be used.
6. Using the silent shaft bearing puller tool No. MD998372 and bearing stopper tool No. MB991603, or equivalents, remove the left counterbalance
shaft rear bearing from the cylinder block.
NOTE: When removing the left counterbalance shaft rear bearing, install the bearing stopper in front of the cylinder block.
INSTALLATION
Reverse the removal procedure to install, noting the following:
1. Apply engine oil to the outer surface of right counterbalance shaft rear bearing.
2. Using special tools, install right rear bearing. Make sure that oil hole of bearing is aligned with oil hole of cylinder block.
3. Install the guide plate tool No. MB991603, or equivalent, to the cylinder block.
4. Apply engine oil to the left counterbalance shaft rear bearing outer circumference and bearing hole in cylinder block.
