SUBJECT:
FRONT WINDSHIELD WASHER NOZZLE LEAKAGE
This bulletin supercedes TSB-95-51-002, issued May, 1995, to update the repair procedure and replacement check valve part numbers.
PURPOSE
Some affected vehicles may experience a small leak ("dribble") from one or both of the front windshield washer nozzles after the washer is turned off.
To eliminate this condition, install new, improved check valves and straight-through joints as described in this bulletin.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
1995-98 Eclipse and Eclipse Spyder models equipped with 2.0L turbocharged or 2.4L engine
PROCEDURE
1.
Lift the hood and inspect the check valves at the windshield washer nozzles. Perform Steps a. through d. on both sides.
a.
If the check valves are black, remove and discard them. Install new blue check valves listed in the PARTS INFORMATION section of this
bulletin. Then continue with Step b.
b.
Cut the washer hose at the location shown, about 25 mm (1 in.) from the blue check valve.
