BUMPER FASCIA/PLASTIC FENDER PAINTING PREPARATION
This TSB supercedes TSB-05-42A-006, issued October, 2005, to add new models & provide updated instructions. Revised information is indicated by <.
PURPOSE <
Replacement bumper fascias and other plastic body parts for affected vehicles will soon be supplied unprimed. If you receive these parts in unprimed
condition, they require special preparation prior to priming and painting. MMNA recommends using the PPG products or (their equivalent) listed in the
paint preparation instructions later in this TSB. These instructions will also be available on service tech resources page on the MDL under Technical
Worksheets.

IMPORTANT:
INSTRUCTIONS FOR PAINT PREPARATION OF BUMPER FASCIAS AND PLASTIC BODY PARTS
Replacement bumper fascia and other plastic pads must be prepared for painting as described below to ensure good paint adhesion.
MMNA recommends using the following PPG products, or their equivalent for this procedure:
^ PPG SU4901 - Clean and Scuff Sponge
^ PPG SU4902 - Plastic Adhesion Wipe
^ PPG SU4903 - Advanced Plastic Bond (or SUA4903 aerosol version)
1. Clean the part thoroughly using PPG SU4901 Clean and Scuff Pad or equivalent) and rinse well with water. Water should "sheet" (flat run off) from
the surface. If it does not, repeat the process. Blow dry or wipe dry with a clean cloth. The entire surface must be totally de-glossed. Ensure the surface is
