EXCESSIVE TOP COVER FLUTTERING NOISE AT HIGHWAY SPEEDS
PURPOSE
This bulletin contains instructions for removing topstack bow stuffers to eliminate excessive top cover fluttering noise which may occur when driving at
highway speeds.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Symptom
Though some sounds from the top cover are expected and normal, wind, especially from the side, and/or driving the vehicle at high speeds may cause the
top cover material to flutter excessively. This can cause a noise the makes a "sizzling" or "rain" sound.
Remedy
To reduce this condition, remove the stuffers from the No. 3, and if necessary, the No. 2 topstack frame bows.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
2001 Eclipse Spyder Convertible
PROCEDURE
1.
Cycle the top to the half-open position to gain access to the top side of the No. 3 bow.
