SUBJECT
POTENTIAL COOLING SYSTEM CONDITIONS - COOLANT RESERVOIR TANK HOSE
PURPOSE
This bulletin contains procedures to correct various potential conditions related to an incorrectly positioned coolant reservoir tank hose.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
Symptom
The customer may report various cooling system related issues, including:

Overheating
^
Low radiator coolant level
^
Poor heater performance at idle
^
A gurgling sound from the cooling system
The vehicle may exhibit any or all of the above symptoms.
Cause
The symptoms described in this bulletin may be caused by an incorrectly positioned internal hose in the coolant reservoir tank. The condition can be
identified by visualty checking for a dark shadow on the upper front side of the tank.
Remedy
Try first to reposition the hose inside the tank. If this is not successful, replace the coolant reservoir tank cap which includes this internal hose.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
The condition described in this bulletin may occur on any of the vehicles built before 5/28/01
