Evaporator Temperature Sensor / Switch: All Technical Service Bulletins
A/C - Cooling Performance Decreases on Extended Drives
No.: TSB-04-55-001
DATE: February, 2004
MODEL: 2004 Endeavor
SUBJECT:
A/C COOLING PERFORMANCE
PURPOSE
During extended (longer than one hour) drives at highway speeds, the air conditioning system on some affected vehicles may deliver decreased cooling
performance. The evaporator air thermo sensor may not sense the temperature properly in the HVAC, causing the A/C compressor not to cycle off
properly and create frost ("freeze up") on the outside of the evaporator. This evaporator frost reduces A/C system performance.
To eliminate this condition, follow these bulletin procedures to install a jumper harness to the evaporator air thermo sensor. The jumper harness contains
a resistor.

2004 Endeavor models built before 10/31/03
PROCEDURE
1.
Under the lower panel on the driver's side, locate the white air thermo sensor connector to the left of the HVAC.
2.
Remove the white connector from the HVAC.
