FUEL FILLER - SAFETY RECALL CAMPAIGN
This bulletin supercedes SR-10-002REV, issued December, 2010, to expand the affected model years, add a corrosion inspection procedure and new
repair procedure when no corrosion is found.
PURPOSE
Affected vehicles operated in Canada and certain states shown above, where road salt is used in cold conditions, may experience fuel filler pipe
corrosion. Mud mixed with road salt can become trapped in the fuel filler pipe protector area, potentially causing corrosion of the fuel filler pipe. Over
time, corrosion could create a leak in the pipe, leading to fuel leakage during vehicle refueling.
Using the inspection procedure in this bulletin, dealers must inspect the fuel filler pipe assembly:
^ If no rust or corrosion is found apply an anti-corrosion agent to the filler pipe assembly and bracket, and install a new, larger fuel filler pipe protector
as described in this bulletin.
^ If rust or corrosion is found, or if the fuel filler pipe is green (not black), replace the fuel filler pipe assembly with the fuel filler pipe repair kit listed in
the PARTS INFORMATION section of this bulletin.
AFFECTED VEHICLES
Certain 2004-2010 Endeavor vehicles produced between January 2003 - March 2010
This campaign applies only to affected vehicles sold in or shipped to registered or residing in the following states and Canada.
IMPORTANT
Affected inventory vehicles must be repaired before the vehicle is sold. Dealers must check their inventory vehicle's VINs on the Warranty Super Screen
to verify weather the vehicle is involved in this recall campaign.
