4. Use soap and water to clean the metal fuel filler pipe protector. Pay special attention to cleaning the inside of the protector. Rinse with clean water and
dry it thoroughly. Then loosely install it, temporarily tightening the bolts 2-3 turns.
IMPORTANT:
The wheel speed sensor harness must be positioned below the fuel filler pipe and protector.
5. Apply additional ThreeBond 6153C through the opening between the metal protector and the pipe, and through the drain holes at the bottom of the
protector.
IMPORTANT:
The drain holes must remain clear.
6. Inspect the pipe assembly to ensure the ThreeBond 6153C throughly covers all areas of the fuel filler pipe and bracket.
IMPORTANT
The drain holes must remain clear.
7. When application is completed turn the can of ThreeBond 6153C upside down and spray one small burst with the can upside down. This will prevent
the nozzle from clogging during storage.
8. Tighten the fuel filler pipe metal protector bolts, bolts attaching the pipe to the under body, and the flange bolts at the fuel filler pipe opening.
Torque Specifications
9. Remove the masking tape and plastic and/or cardboard.
10. Reinstall the removed parts using the new canister vapor hose and clips provided in the repair kit.
