Wiper Motor: Testing and Inspection
Windshield Wiper Motor and Link Assembly Check
WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY CHECK
CAUTION: When clamping the windshield wiper motor and link assembly in a vise, be sure that the link is free to move.
1. Clamp the windshield wiper motor and link assembly in a vise as shown.
2. Connect the windshield wiper motor connector terminal number 5 to ground.
3. Check to see that the windshield wiper motor runs at high speed when connecting the positive battery terminal to windshield wiper motor
connector terminal number 2.
4. Check to see that the windshield wiper motor runs at low speed when connecting the positive battery terminal to windshield wiper motor connector
terminal number 1.
