Drain Plug Gasket

1. Replace the drain plug gasket as shown and torque drain plug (9) to 40 Nm (29 ft.lbs).

2. Using Mitsubishi sealant MD970389 or equivalent, seal the oil pan as shown and install on engine.
3. Install oil pan mount bolts and torque to 7 Nm (5 ft.lbs).
4. Install bell housing cover and torque to 10-12 Nm (7-9 ft.lbs) for A/T or 9 Nm (7 ft.lbs) for M/T.
5. Install transfer case, torque mount bolts to 70 Nm (51 ft.lbs) for A/t or 55-60 Nm (40-43 ft.lbs) for M/T.
6. Using a new gasket, install the exhaust pipe to the exhaust manifold and torque new retainer nuts to 40-50 Nm (29-36 ft.lbs) and bracket bolts to

30-40 Nm (22-29 ft.lbs).

7. Install new oil filter and refill engine with proper amount of oil.  Check transfer case oil level and fill as necessary.
8. Start engine and check for leaks.
