Expo AWD L4-2350cc 2.4L SOHC 8 Valve (1992)

Disconnect battery ground cable.
2.
Raise and support vehicle.
3.
Remove differential carrier and/or support member in numbered sequence shown in Fig. 1, noting the following:
a. Remove nuts and bolts from driveshaft and companion flange then support the driveshaft out of the way.
b. Using slide hammer tool No. MB990211-01 or equivalent, remove companion shaft from differential carrier.
c. Mark propeller shaft location for reference during assembly.
d. Remove propeller shaft bolts then support the propeller shaft out of the way.
e. Support differential carrier bolts using a suitable jack then remove differential carrier support bolts.
f.
Disconnect main muffler from center exhaust pipe. Support muffler with wire from frame.
4.
Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Install mount stopper as shown in Fig. 2.
b. Install companion shaft into differential carrier using care not to damage oil seal.
c. Identify RH and LH companion shafts prior to installation, Fig. 3.
