PURPOSE
This Bulletin describes the cause and correction for a wind noise heard from the roof rack.
VEHICLES AFFECTED
1992 Expo and Expo LRV equipped with roof rack.
DESCRIPTION
On some 1992 Expos and Expo LRVs, a wind noise from the root rack may be heard while driving at any speed. This wind noise may be caused by air
rushing over the two roof rack crossbar channels.
To lessen the wind noise, it is necessary to install a rubber insert into each crossbar channel.
See the illustration.
Installation of the rubber inserts can be simplified by spraying them with silicone lubricant before pushing them into the roof rack channel.
NOTE:
The inserts will limit movement of the roof rack tie downs.
PARTS INFORMATION
One part number is applicable for both Expo and Expo LRV. On the Expo LRV, the inserts will require trimming for proper fit.
