Closed Throttle Position Switch: Description and Operation

Idle Position Switch Circuit

The Idle Position Switch, which is a contact type switch, senses accelerator operation. It is located on the throttle chamber, at the throttle plate. 
When the throttle valve is in the idle position, a lever on the throttle plate pushes on the switch, closing it.
