SUBJECT:
REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY SYSTEMS
PURPOSE
This bulletin describes remote keyless entry systems available on most 1993 vehicles - see chart. All keyless entry systems are available only on vehicles
equipped with power door locks. Each keyless entry system type operates the power door lock system, but their function and system operations are
different. Operational characteristics and programming procedures for each system are described in this bulletin.
VEHICLE MODEL APPLICATION
GENERAL SYSTEM INFORMATION
When programming any system, move at least 75 feet from any vehicle that has a remote keyless entry system. This distance is necessary to avoid
possible interference from other systems.
Note:
If a customer purchases a replacement transmitter, both transmitters must be available for programming. There is no way to determine which transmitter
code should be overridden. This is true for all systems.

General Information
This Remote Keyless Entry System is factory installed only (additional service information is available in the appropriate service manual.) A Light
Emitting Diode (LED) on the transmitter illuminates whenever an operation button is pressed.
The system will not lock the vehicle's doors if the key is left in the ignition, or if one of the doors is not fully closed.
When the UNLOCK button is pressed once, only the driver's door unlocks. The dome light will also illuminate briefly. If the UNLOCK button is pressed
a second time, within one minute, the system will unlock all the other doors.
Automatic Relock
The system will automatically relock all doors if an UNLOCK signal is transmitted, but no door is opened within 30 seconds. This prevents accidental
unlocking.
