Throttle Full Close Switch: Testing and Inspection
Idle Position Switch Circuit
Engine Control Module Connector--For Pin Applications See Components
TIP:
If the closed throttle position switch harness and individual check results are normal but the closed throttle position switch output is abnormal, the
following should be checked;
-
Poorly adjusted accelerator cable
-
Poorly adjusted fixed SAS--Speed Adjusting Screw
COMPONENT TEST
1. Disconnect the motor position sensor connector.
2. With the throttle closed, use an Ohm meter and check for continuity between terminal 4 and ground.
Continuity Should exist.
3. With the throttle closed, use an Ohm meter and check for continuity between terminals 3 and 4.
Continuity Should exist.
4. Open the throttle, use an Ohm meter and check for continuity between terminals 3 and 4.
Continuity Should not exist.
HARNESS TEST:
1. Disconnect the sensor connector and turn the key to the ON position.
2. Using a Voltmeter, check the Voltage between the harness connector terminal 3 and ground.
Voltage: 4 - 5 Volts.
3. Turn the key OFF, disconnect the negative battery cable and the ECU Connector.
4. Using an Ohm meter, check for continuity between ECU harness terminal 67 and ISC harness terminal 3.
Continuity Should exist.
5. Using an Ohm meter, check for continuity between ECU harness terminal 67 and ground.
