Check valve seat for evidence of overheating and improper contact with valve face, and replace as necessary.
7.
Check free height of each valve spring. If spring free height is not as specified, replace as necessary.
8.
Test spring for squareness. If spring squareness exceeds specified value, replace spring.
INSTALLATION
1.
Reverse disassembly procedure to assemble and note the following:
a. Apply engine oil to each valve. Insert valves into guides, using care not to damage seal.
b. Valve spring should be installed with identification color side directed toward valve spring retainer.
c. Using a suitable valve spring compressor, compress spring and install retainer lock.
