Throttle Cable/Linkage: Service and Repair
REMOVAL OF ACCELERATOR CABLE
Accelerator Cable Adjustment
1.
Remove the accelerator cable adjusting bolts.
2.
Disconnect the accelerator cable from the throttle arm.
3.
Disconnect the accelerator cable from the accelerator arm.
4.
Remove the accelerator cable.
REMOVAL OF ACCELERATOR PEDAL
Accelerator Cable And Pedal Assembly
1.
Remove the bushing and inner cable from the accelerator arm.
2.
Pull the left side of the accelerator pedal toward you, and then remove the accelerator pedal from the accelerator arm.
3.
After disconnecting the accelerator switch connector, loosen the bolts of the accelerator arm bracket and remove the assembly.
INSPECTION
1.
Check the return spring for deterioration.
2.
Check the connection of the bushing to end metal fitting.
3.
Check the accelerator switch for proper operation.
