5. Connect the adapter harness to the air bag module. Place the air bag module in the center of a mounted used tire.
6. Using the heavy wires, secure the air bag module to the mounted used tire (Figure 4).
NOTE:
Make certain the air bag module is centered within the used tire.
7. Place the tire-air-bag-module assembly on the ground, with the module facing upwards (Figure 4).
NOTE:
The adapter harness needs approximately 1 foot of slack when placed under the tire. If not, the adapter harness may be damaged by the
reaction created during deployment.

8. Stack 3 additional unmounted used tires on top of the tire to which the air bag module has been attached to (Figure 5).

9. At an upwind location, as far away from the air bag module as possible, disconnect the two short-circuded wires. To deploy the module, connect the
two wires to the two terminals of the battery which was removed from the vehicle (Figure 6).
WARNING:
1. Before deployment, carefully check that no one is nearby.
2. After deployment the air bag module's deployment inflator will be quite hot. Allow the module to cool for at least 30 minutes.
3. Although not poisonous, do not inhale the gases.
4. If the air bag module fails to deploy when the procedures are followed, do not go near the module. Contact your regional Tech Line at
1-800-446-6064 for instructions.
Deployed Air Bag Module Disposal Procedure
After deployment, the air bag module should be disposed of in the same manner as any other scrap parts using the following additional
instructions/precautions:
1. The inflator will be quite hot immediately following deployment, so allow it to cool at least 30 minutes.
2. Do not put water or oil on the air bag after deployment.
3. During air bag deployment a residue may adhere to the air bag module material. Wear safety glasses and heavy gloves when handling a deployed
module. IF DESPITE THESE PRECAUTIONS RESIDUE MATERIAL DOES GET INTO THE EYES OR ON THE SKIN, IMMEDIATELY
RINSE THE AFFECTED AREA WITH A LARGE AMOUNT OF CLEAN WATER, IF ANY IRRITATION DEVELOPS, SEEK MEDICAL
ATTENTION.
